I'm pretty lucky to live in London. The London scene has so much going on in terms of culture and what not. So here is a recap of all the things now and the things to look forward to for the culture vultures:
In terms of 'la mode'- Cara and more Cara. if you don't know who she is, have you been living under a rock (try google-ing her)? (non-Brits you are excused) We've also got Rosie Tapner, Topshop's new muse, rising in the fashion world but she is no where near as big as Miss Delevingne. 'Mod' is all big but, well, its ok. However, gotta say, I have been re enlightened on the subject of beehives. Beehives don't have to be nasty things, that are so colossal they collect dust. Suki Waterhouse, Georgia May Jagger and Cara Delevingne herself are sporting the acceptable types and many bloggers like Olivia (from 'What Olivia Did') wear their beehives tres bien. It is a new goal of mine to attempt a beehive at least once. Also, Nicholas Kirkwood is making weird shoes look cool and the genius 'spoof' Hermes turned homies clothing have been seen on many celebs (unfortunately Miley Cyrus has been seen to wear them, which does decrease their coolness, but I still want one because they are hilarious. They sell cheaper versions (but still scandalously high) at Urban Outfitters.
Film - Go Abe, Katniss and Amelia Mignonette Thermopolis (Grimaldi Renaldo) on their Oscar wins. Anne has come a long way since her role as Princess of the fine nation, Genovia. GENOVIA, GENOVIA, the land I call my home (sorry, I feel a need to reminisce on the Genovian national anthem whenever I think of Princess Diaries). Also you go Daniel Day on your third one, method acting really pays off. And J Law, you go. Leading me on to HUNGER GAMES. Yes, I am awfully excited for the next installment: Catching Fire (my favourite book of the trilogy) and looking forward to Finnick and everyone new. I know it is out in ages but I am dead excited. We've also got the upcoming Great Gatsby on the way (after the release date was been pushed back like a hundred times) so that comes out in May. Also, apparently there is a new Iron Man (sigh, when you get to a third superhero film it is destined for failure (look at batman- too far...) There's a new Superman and the second Hobbit film in the verizon for later in the year.
London Exhibitions - Among many events Spring washes in, The V & A have the David Bowie is exhibition and the Tate Modern has the Lichenstein exhibition. March means the St Patrick's Day Parade too!
That's all folks!
