IT'S SUMMERRR!!! This calls for: blogging, reading, exercising (maybe), 80s film marathons, wandering around museums, listening to music more often and learning tagalog (filipino language). Here's what I am currently loving:
What are you loving this Summer and what have you got planned to do this Summer?
- Alexa's style Alexa Chung lives off classic pieces making her style so timeless. Today's Audrey Hepburn. I must take note for my Sixth Form Wardrobe.
- Lemonade especially the pink variety.
- Wallpaper* magazine The design bible. Just finished my week work experience in their fabulous office last week. Some beautiful designs in this August's handmade edition.
- Spain Just returned from Spain and took in the food, culture (hello Picasso Museum) and of course the heat.
- Badass movie heroines During my recent 80s action film binge, I revisited Ellen Ripley from Alien(s) who is just so fabulous. And there is The Terminator's Sarah Connor too. But Ripley is by far the best. She is so resilient, fierce yet moral and level headed. These Pioneer female action roles really paved the way for Katniss, Lara Croft and so many others.
- Chanel Dallas show I always thought Chanel was a bit old and tweedy but I liked the Dallas fashion show - its kinda Kate Bosworth prairie fashion.
- Anthropology I'm currently reading a book called 'Guns, Germs and Steel' by Jared Diamond. The author sets out to answer a question 'Why did history unfold so differently on different continents?' It's a fascinating question and this has got me rather interested into all things Anthropology.
- Summer Reading I've compiled a large list of books to read this summer. Just finished Tess and enjoyed it alot. Maybe something more modern next.
- Summer Outdoor Cinemas I am heartbroken that I didn't get tickets to the Big Trouble in Little China outdoor screening at Somerset House. Best Film Ever. (And it was a double bill with Ghostbusters which is also excellent in so many ways) Luckily, some other companies are doing some Summer film screenings like The Luna Cinema. Unfortunately no Big Trouble though yet scheduled.
- Flats They look so good here on Sarah Mikaela of Framboise Fashion. Asos does a fine pair.
- Deep dish cookies I found this recipe after seeing a picture on pinterest. It looks absolutely divine. Must make soon.
