So I found out about this little blogging competition called Passion for Fashion and I decided to give it a try. It simply entails creating 3 outfits under the themes: party, casual and beach/holiday all under £200 with the winner receiving a cash prize. Voilà:
This whole look has a dainty and girlish charm, inspired by all things early 20th century. The Art Deco style purse and headband is very 'gatsby' (the films out in May woop woop) and the whole look can only be described as 50s housewife meets Daisy Buchanan meets your grandma's doily(an unlikely style icon, I know). This lovely coral dress with its chiffon pleats needed some cutesy bow-clad shoes in a baby hue worn with a girly pair of socks. (yeah yeah, i know pastels are literally 'soo last year' but these shoes are just too cute). So here is the finished product, worn with an optional beehive.
This casual look exhibits a kinda 90s-cool grunge look. This Office copy of the famous Balenciaga cutout boots popularized by the likes of Rumi Neely are super covetable at the moment. I really love this ribbed knit and I can imagine it looking really good with these topshop skinnys. This backpack would look pretty epic topping this ensemble off but don't fret PETA, it's only snake look, not real snake.
For my beach/holiday look, I went for a bohemian look. Cue the beautifully flowy Free People Dress which screams boho beachiness. It is actually sold as a nightie, but hey, that doesn't mean it can't work as a cover-up. My favourite part of the outfit are the toms desert boots with a south american inspired embroidery. This bikini has an exotic Mediterranean vibe yet has a retro 50's style high waist and this humble urban outfitters backpack is the perfect utilitarian staple for all those holiday bits and bobs.
